Dr.
Daniel Craig, DOM
I am a Doctor
of Oriental Medicine (DOM) and an Addiction Counselor Intern
at Santa Fe Recovery Center (SFRC). I have been with
SFRC since Summer 2005 and prior to that worked as a Detox Counselor,
Outpatient Counselor, and Medical Technician with the Recovery
From Addictions (RAP) program for approximately 30 months. I
also worked as a counselor and Residential Program Director with
La Nueva Vida (LNV) from May 1993 to May 1995; LNV was a residential
treatment center for adolescents, ages 13-18 years old. I
gained a B.A. in Psychology from New Mexico State University in
1988 and a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from
Southwest Acupuncture College in 2001. I am a native New
Mexican and served for 12 years in the Regular Army and briefly
in the New Mexico Army National Guard. I fought in the 1991
Gulf War and am actively involved in veteran’s issues and
have been since 2002. My practice as a counselor and doctor
revolves mainly around Chinese 5-Element Theory, incorporating
12-Step Model recovery, Motivational Interviewing, and various
Western models of treatment. Underlying all this is a deep
and profound belief and practice in spirituality as the foundation
for recovery and healing.
