Stacy Martin Joins Santa Fe Recovery Center as CEO

New CEO Has 15 Years of Executive Experience in Mental Health and Human Services

Santa Fe, NM — Stacy Martin has joined Santa Fe Recovery Center (SFRC) as its new Chief Executive Officer. In her new role, Martin will drive SFRC’s mission, fundraising, operations and community engagement.

“Stacy is a strong national leader and a dynamic advocate for increasing access to mental health care,” said Thomas Starke, SFRC Board Chair. “We’re delighted she’s joined us and look forward to her leadership as we expand mental health and treatment of substance use with the goals of harm reduction, providing integrative care and creating long-term recovery for the clients we serve. We are confident her leadership will result in even more effective care for the many New Mexicans seeking recovery from substance use disorders.”

A native of Kansas, Martin most recently served as President and CEO for Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio. Her leadership led to change in programming for child welfare, immigration, housing, behavioral health and food insecurity in communities throughout Ohio, Nebraska and Florida. In Nebraska, she led a human services organization that implemented the state’s first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.

“I joined Santa Fe Recovery Center because I believe that everyone on staff is committed to the mission that recovery is possible for every person. Their compassion shines through and is felt by the clients we serve,” said Martin. Such commitment aligns with Martin’s steadfast advocacy for increasing access to mental health care and substance use and addiction treatment that supports long-term recovery.

Martin sees significant opportunity for growth across SFRC as well as throughout the state. “The need for substance use disorder treatment is so significant in New Mexico,” Martin said. “We will continue to build on our foundation of client-centered care and compassion that supports emotional, social and physical well-being and long-term recovery.”

Since 2017, Santa Fe Recovery Center has experienced significant growth, enabling the organization to serve more clients annually, increase the number of client beds tenfold to more than 200 beds in 2022, and sustain client engagement through outpatient treatment and alumni recovery support. Each individual seeking treatment is provided the same high-quality, compassionate care, regardless of background, income or insurance.

About Santa Fe Recovery Center Santa Fe Recovery Center

(SFRC) is a non-profit, CARF-accredited (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) substance use disorder (SUD) treatment center operating in Santa Fe and Gallup, NM. SFRC was established in 2005 to respond to the long-existing problem of substance use plaguing Northern New Mexico. SFRC provides detoxification, residential treatment, regular and intensive outpatient treatment, and medication-assisted treatment. In 2020, at the request of the State of New Mexico Department of Health and the New Mexico Human Services Department, Santa Fe Recovery Center was tapped to fill the void in evidence-based SUD treatment options in McKinley County in an effort to help eliminate gaping health disparities in this rural, underserved community. Shortly thereafter, Four Corners Detox Recovery Center (FCDRC) was established in Gallup, NM.
