Santa Fe Recovery Center Achieves CARF Accreditation for Quality, Client-Focused Care

Santa Fe Recovery Center is proud to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, nonprofit accreditor that upholds internationally recognized standards in health and human services. This certification demonstrates our commitment to quality, client-focused care, and continual improvement.

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC)

In 2025, Santa Fe Recovery Center achieved Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) designation for services in McKinley County. Through the CCBHC model in McKinley County and outpatient behavioral health services in Santa Fe County, SFRC provides a comprehensive range of behavioral health services for individuals across the lifespan alongside a full continuum of substance use treatment services. The CCBHC model emphasizes strong collaboration with community organizations, including law enforcement, schools, hospitals, tribal partners, and local support agencies, ensuring individuals receive coordinated, person-centered, and holistic care.

The CCBHC model includes nine core services:

Person- and Family-Centered Treatment Planning

Community-Based Mental Health Care for Veterans

Peer Family Support and Counselor Services

Targeted Care Management

Join the Santa Fe Recovery Center CCBHC Advisory Board – McKinley County

Santa Fe Recovery Center (SFRC) is seeking community members to participate in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Advisory Board for McKinley County, New Mexico.

The CCBHC Advisory Board plays an important role in supporting quality behavioral health services, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring services remain responsive to the needs of individuals and families throughout McKinley County. Board members provide guidance, feedback, and community perspective to help support ethical, accountable, and effective governance of CCBHC services.

We are currently seeking individuals who are passionate about improving behavioral health services and making a meaningful impact within their community.


Advisory Board Purpose
The purpose of the CCBHC Advisory Board is to ensure active, accountable, ethical, and legally compliant governance of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. The Board provides community oversight, input, and collaboration to support the delivery of high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services.

Membership Requirements
The Advisory Board consists of six (6) individuals, including: One non-voting CCBHC Administrator Five community members

Community Member Eligibility Criteria

Community members must:

  • Be a resident of McKinley County, New Mexico
  • Support the mission and goals of community behavioral health services
  • Be willing to actively participate in monthly meetings and governance activities

In accordance with SAMHSA representation requirements:

  • At least three (3) members must have lived experience or be a family member of an individual with lived experience related to mental health, substance use, or behavioral health services
  • Two (2) members may possess experience or expertise in areas such as:
    • Health services
    • Community affairs
    • Local government
    • Finance and accounting
    • Legal affairs
    • Trade unions
    • Faith communities
    • Commercial or industrial concerns
    • Social service agencies serving the community
  • Individuals currently receiving services may also qualify for participation
  • SFRC is committed to maintaining an ethnically diverse Advisory Board that reflects the communities served

Meeting Expectations
  • Meetings occur monthly
  • Meeting length is approximately one (1) hour
  • Participation may include review of program updates, community feedback, service access concerns, and quality improvement initiatives

The NHSC aims to strengthen communities by connecting qualified healthcare providers with high-need areas, known as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). With this designation, SFRC is committed to supporting and retaining skilled professionals who provide accessible, compassionate care across New Mexico.

Completing detox is an essential milestone, but recovery doesn’t stop there. After finishing detox treatment, you have the option to continue treatment with Santa Fe Recovery Center or transition with support and case management to other services.
